FREE Water Play Parks you absolutely have to see

Even with water restrictions, there are still some parks in the Western Sydney & surrounding area that offer free water play for you and your family this summer – make sure you check them out to cool down. The best part is they’re all free!

Note: please check the local council website for water play changes before you visit

Livvi’s Place Elara Park | Cnr Elara Blvd & Northbourne Drive, Marsden Park

Elara Park has everything a child could want, including an amazing water play area that’s huge, shaded seating & BBQs, a flying fox and lots of outdoor play activities. You can sit and have some lunch whilst the kids go nuts! Make sure they bring their scooter or bike too as there’s a great path to get around with pretend traffic lights and stop signs, and it’s all fully fenced.

Governor Phillip Park | George St, Windsor

Down on the banks of the Hawkesbury River, this fantastic park is so beautiful. It’s very relaxing and picturesque, great for a picnic or BBQ. Full fenced, shaded seating areas just outside, a great park area to take the dog also as there’s so much space they can run around. There is water play, and loads for the kids to run around and do to keep them happy, along with a great giant musical chimes set up.

This wonderfully well thought park caters for children of all ages, as well as special needs children. It includes a great water play area, and there are pathways all through the playground for easy wheelchair access. It also includes a passive areas for children with sensory disorders who might need to have some quiet space, sensory play and great children’s artworks along the steps which looks so amazing. All this and much more!

Livvi’s Place Bernie Mullane – Marella Ave, Kellyville

This park has been completely re-done, and has a great water play area for the kids. It’s a little out of area, but so worth the visit if you’re needing to head to the Hills area. The park is huge! So there’s lots to do, however shade is limited when it gets busy. Parking is easy, and the park has a great area just for the littlies, and is fully fenced with toilets easily accessible.

Nurragingy Reserve Water Park | Knox Rd, Doonside

Nurragingy Reserve is a beautiful 63 hectare reserve & park area which has fantastic open spaces, BBQ facilities and great picnic areas for families. The water play area (located at the Wren Picnic Area) is interactive, fun, and just what you’ve been lookking for! With a large windmill, fountains, water spray jets, cannons and bucket dumpers, this is a great way for the kids to burn off some energy. The water play area has a sail shade, with free parking within the park and toilet facilities nearby. Take a ball, frisby and a picnic, and really make a day of it at this great reserve.

Francis Park | Blacktown Showground Precinct

This fantastic water play park includes some water troughs, a hand wheel water pump, a concrete water maze, and also has a junior playground for 2-8 year olds nearby. Also on the grounds you will find a multi-use track for walking, jogging and cycling, outdoor courts perfect for netball, basketball and futsal, a woodlands park, toilets and a cafe. This water play park really caters for a range of ages, and also has a playground for older kids with a fantastic flying fox. There are BBQ facilities and picnic areas with shade so you can make a day of it.
